Kingston Technology Co. has launched its ValueRAM DDR2 registered ECC memory module, supporting Advanced Micro Devices' Opteron1000 series processors.

Kingston says it will charge a cool $1,690 a piece for its 4GB ValueRAM DDR2-667 modules and $1,270 for the DDR2-533 variants.

The new Kingston ValueRAM 667-MHz DDR2 unbuffered SO-DIMM modules are available in 256-MB, 512-MB and 1-GB capacities, shipping immediately in limited quantity.
