A torrid offensive performance that saw each member of the starting five record a double-digit scoring tally led the Detroit Pistons to a comfortable 104-86 win over the New York Knicks in an NBA 2K26 Summer League battle at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Friday evening.

The Pistons dominated in their Summer League opener. However, much of their success stemmed from meeting both individual and collective goals.

McCullar is a big unknown for the Knicks, projected as a first-rounder before falling in the 2024 draft because of that knee. The diagnosis of McCullar’s injury was never made public, but it was apparently aggravated during his final college season at Kansas and sidelined him for most of his Knicks rookie season.

It may be easy to overreact to his performance this summer thus far, but his performance in his appearances in the Knick uniform last season indicate that New York needs to find a veteran guard on the market as soon as possible.
