Jeffrey Veltri was named as head of the FBI’s Miami field office in March 2023— seven months after federal agents raided Donald Trump’s Palm Beach estate in a search for classified documents that he allegedly took to Mar-a-Lago after losing the presidency.

FBI agents who participated in investigations related to President Donald Trump have sued over Justice Department efforts to develop a list of employees involved in those inquiries that agents fear could be a precursor to discipline or termination.

Justin Fleck, who recently celebrated 18 months with the FBI, has taken over the Miami office as acting special agent in charge. He’s already updated his LinkedIn profile, which shows he worked for seven years as a deputy and detective at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office before joining the FBI in early 2007.
