MILWAUKEE — Garrett Crochet has made a dozen starts for the Red Sox, all but one or two of them brilliant. In 10 of those 12 starts, he’s allowed two runs or fewer — as he did Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Crochet opened the game with a 96-mile-per-hour fastball down the middle. Brewers hitter Jackson Chourio turned the offering around at 106 m.p.h., blasting a ball 413 feet into the Brewers’ bullpen in left-center. It was the second time this year that Crochet had given up a homer on his first pitch of a game.

Jackson Chourio homered on the opening pitch from Garrett Crochet, and the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Boston Red Sox 3-2 on Monday.
