A federal judge in Tennessee is set to hear from federal prosecutors on Wednesday on their request that Kilmar Abrego Garcia be detained pending trial.
Attorneys for Christopher Martinez Marvan said that they will appeal the judge’s ruling that he lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.
The union said that it can take as long as a year to recruit, hire and train new immigration court judges. The "Big, Beautiful Bill," recently signed by President Donald Trump, will provide the Executive Office of Immigration Review with $3.3 billion.
The union said they were working in courts in 10 different states across the country, including Massachusetts.
