Las Vegas police officers have decided not to go on strike after department employees were asked to consider work action in the face of a planned increase to their retirement contributions that union officials say would decrease their take-home pay.

According to a release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which came in just before 9 p.m. Saturday, the pursuit ended near the intersection of South Eastern Avenue and East Charleston Boulevard in central Las Vegas. Authorities reported a heavy police presence at the intersection as a result.
