WESTFIELD – For the fourth consecutive year, a member of the Westfield Starfires was selected in the Major League Baseball Draft, as right-handed pitcher Cole Raymond was taken in the 17th round, 499th overall, by the Los Angeles Angels.

The Angels selected LaCourse with the 169th overall pick in the 2025 draft. That slot comes with a $393,700 signing value, according to the MLB bonus pool, which assigns a dollar amount to each draft position for each team. Teams do not need to offer that amount but can not surpass their overall bonus pool total without penalty.

Talon Haley, a Vanderbilt baseball signee, was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 12th round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
