Friday’s intense weather, which included a tornado within sight at Iowa Speedway, was traded for a warm 75 degrees and problem-free running to start a busy Saturday.
Cooler air surging south across the state has confined the severe weather risk to mainly far southern and southeast Iowa. This will likely shift south out of the state within the next 90 minutes. Heavy rain continues closer to the metro, but the severe weather risk is over.
