The president of Croatia, officially the president of the Republic of Croatia (Croatian: Predsjednik Republike Hrvatske), is the head of state, commander-in-chief of the military and chief representative of the Republic of Croatia both within the country and abroad. The president is the holder of the highest office in Croatia.

Milanović defeated incumbent president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović in the second round of the 2020 election. He was re-elected in 2025, defeating Dragan Primorac in a landslide. Milanović became the first president to won a second term since Stjepan Mesić in 2005.

In 2003, Zoran Milanović became the Assistant Minister for Political Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2007 he was elected President of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia, succeeding Ivica Račan.
