While hunting the Venom Symbiote, [2] they were discovered by an incarnation of Doctor Strange, who bonded to the symbiote and proceeded to recruit an army of Venomized superheroes, antiheroes, and supervillains from across the Multiverse to stop the Poisons.

With his new allies from across the Multiverse, a Resistance was created to fight against the Poisons, an alien species capable of assimilating Symbiotes and their hosts. The Resistance now struggles to stop the Hive and their onslaught.

The Poisons are creatures that feed on heroes bonded with symbiotes, which permanently turns both the host and the symbiote into one of them. They are led by a poisoned Dr. Doom. Dr. Strange realizes that bringing Venoms to continue the war only gives more prey to the Poisons, so he returns everyone to their native reality before dying.
